2010 News Letter

April 5, 2010

From the Board of Directors:

Camp season 2010 is just around the corner. Work has already begun on getting the facilities open for what we hope to be another record season. WKYC has steadily grown for the past 3 years posting a record attendance in 2008 with 1056 campers, and yet another record attendance last year with 1094 campers.

Spring and fall retreats at WKYC also continue to be very popular. WKYC will continue to grow but only with your help. We ask that you encourage your youth to attend one of our many camp sessions.

Applications are available online at the web site indicated above. Building strong Christians is our motto and with your help WKYC can do just that.

WKYC annual golf scramble and fish fry this past fall was a tremendous success raising a total if $11,000 thanks to the organizer Craig Evans. Set your calendar, this year’s golf scramble and fish fry will be on Saturday, September 11, 2010.

We have recently updated our web site www.wkyc.org and it looks great. Thanks to David Shepeard from Glendale Road. Note: follow the link on the home page and sign up to follow all the changes on twitter.

PhotoThe construction of a new playground for young children is underway. The completely fenced in area will contain a Noah’s Ark, swings, etc. with room for more pieces to be added in the future. The first phase will be complete before 2010 summer camp sessions. Thanks for all the hard work we know the kids will love it.
